Alicia Keys? new music video for her torch song ?Tears Always Win? was filmed in downtown Vegas and on the Strip. Keys says on Twitter the pretty video is about a ?day in the life of a girl on the grind.?
The video was released Friday, and had only 28,000 views by Friday night.
That got me thinking. What are the most-watched Vegas music videos on YouTube? And are they good? If I have forgotten a video, post a link in the comments.
? Lil Wayne?s ?Lollipop? featuring Static ? In this Vegas video, the crazy rapper primps in a suite, then rides the Strip in a limo with a bunch of, um, ladies. The video is so silly and slick, it makes me enjoy this club staple a little more. (123 million views.)
? Sean Paul?s ?Got 2 Luv U? featuring Alexis Jordan ? The Jamaican dancehall singer cavorts with a lady at the Hard Rock Hotel and in clubs Vanity and Haze. It?s a very sparkly, prettily shot video. (121 million views.)
? Katy Perry?s ?Waking Up In Vegas? ? Russell Brand?s ex-wife hits a jackpot, walks around Fremont Street flashing a wad of cash, and she ejects Penn & Teller from a suite. But then she listens to her own music and loses all her money due to instant karma. I may never come around to Katy Perry. (33 million views.)
? Calvin Harris? ?Bounce? featuring Kelis ? This is my favorite song on this list. In the quaint video, a skinny dude bounces around the suburbs, then parties at Surrender nightclub. (28 million views.)
? Tim Berg?s ?Seek Bromance? ? Carefree young people ride in a convertible, stick substances in each other?s mouths, get tossed from a casino while tripping, then hook up in a threesome. It?s a low-fi, trying-too-hard video, but whatever. (26 million views.)
? The Killers? ?All These Things That I?ve Done? ? This is the Killers? masterpiece song. The video is filmed cutely around trailer homes and the then-Neon Boneyard. (13 million views.)
? Afrojack and Steve Aoki?s ?No Beef? featuring Miss Palmer ? The musicians go shopping at Bonanza Gifts, then drink in a limo en route to the Wynn and Fremont Street. It?s a workaday video but fun. (13 million views.)
? Mariah Carey?s ?I Stay In Love? ? Cue the Bellagio Fountains, as Mariah gets in full showgirl gear. It?s OK. (13 million views.)
? Brandon Flowers? ?Only The Young? ? He sings while ?La Reve? performers do spectacular things. I don?t remember this song, sorry. (5.5 million views.)
? Aloe Blacc?s ?I Need A Dollar? ? The soul singer performs at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, then walks the desert and Strip. Pretty song, routine video. (3.4 million views.)
? Monster Magnet?s ?Space Lord? ? The band performs in front of the Plaza downtown. I can?t even cope with this. (3 million views.)
? The Killers? ?Boots? ? Brandon Flowers and a guy down on his luck sing around Vegas. It?s not bad. (2.3 million views.)
? Goo Goo Dolls? ?Sympathy? ? The band rides up the Strip and lipsyncs. OK. (1.4 million views.)
? Ma$e?s ?Feels So Good? ? A basic ?90s rap video. (215,000 views.)
? U2?s ?I Still Haven?t Found What I?m Looking For? was filmed on Fremont Street when U2 hadn?t yet become insufferable. But the video seems to be missing from YouTube for copyright reasons. The same seems true of Snoop Dogg?s missing video of ?Signs,? featuring Charlie Wilson and Justin Timberlake moving in slow motion, while Snoop talks about cologne.
